I don't miss you

Oh no; I do not miss you,
I don't miss your warm embrace.
When I close my eyes at night,
I do not see your face.

When he kisses me with passion,
I don't pretend his lips are yours.
And when he fills me with his essence,
I am not filled with remorse.

When I hold his hand in public,
I don't picture in my mind;
That when I look in his direction,
It's your face my eyes will find.

When I sit with him at dinner,
over candlelight and wine;
and I laugh at jokes he utters,
Tears don't cause my eyes to shine.

When I awake within nights' stillness,
and I pause to glance his way;
I'm not broken, I'm not bitter.
No, my heart's not turned to clay.

So don't think for once I miss you.
My life is all that it could be.
I don't think of you that often.
Of your memory I am free.
